Unfortunately, October has not been all that exciting. Several weeks ago, we had out of town guests, the Hoolis, but at the same time I came down with the flu. The real flu. I wasn't much of a host to them and I was left to lie on the couch and watch movies for days. Even after getting better, it took a while for me to get my energy back and feel like myself. Other than that, we haven't really done much and I have found myself in a funk. I think it is the start of the winter time blahs. The weather has been crappy - 40s and rainy - and I miss being outside. My classroom has no windows, they are boarded up due to construction, and I really need a little sunshine in my life. That being said, we have gotten back in the swing of Souper Sunday and have made Potato Soup and Beef Stew over the last few weeks. Brett visited his friend Paul in Washington DC over Columbus Day weekend and I am hoping he will share that.
So, that's us in a nutshell. Day by day we are looking forward to March when we get to go back here...The Secrets Capri in Riviera Maya, Mexico. Although, March is a bit early, we will be celebrating our 5th anniversary there, the exact place we went on our honeymoon.
I leave you with a tasty recipe for Upside Down Deep Dish Pizza and a promise to try to blog a bit more.
